"The most startlingly statistic in the chart was the rapid increase in Exploit.Iframe.B detections," said Steven Sundermeier, Vice President of Products and Services at Central Command, Inc. The signature Exploit.Iframe.B was added by Central Command's Emergency Virus Response Team to thwart virus authors from capitalizing on a known Microsoft vulnerability within Internet Explorer. The vulnerability could allow an attacker to execute code of their choice on a users machine by tricking them into opening a uniquely crafted HTML-based email. "Unfortunately, we continue to see this exploit being used by attackers in an attempt to blast out their malicious creations across the Internet."
